Bunker Hill Monument

The Bunker Hill Monument is a prominent historic landmark located in Charlestown. It commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill, which took place on June 17, 1775, early in the American Revolutionary War. 

This 220-foot granite obelisk monument commemorates the turning-point battle against the English army. Ultimately, the Redcoats prevailed, but they lost more than one-third of their deployed forces, while the colonists suffered relatively few casualties. 

You can climb the 294 steps of the monument, where you are rewarded with panoramic views of Boston, the harbor, and the surrounding area. Along the way, there are exhibits and displays providing information about the battle and its significance in American history.

The monument is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike, offering a glimpse into one of the pivotal moments of the American Revolution.
